- Transcript -1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic? Eco-glam with an eclectic twist. My style is inspired by the colors of our natural environment and I love to add glamorous accents for contrast, like glass, faux fur, and velvets. 2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process? I ask my client A LOT of questions and I spend time observing the way they interact and live in the space. Then, I find the perfect fabric that they love and build from there. 3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most? I respect and admire my clients the most, because without them I wouldn't be able to do what I do. My clients are creative in their own right and I believe that just by working with them on a project, I’m growing as a designer and helping them gain decor confidence. I’ll first start on a project and the client is intimidated by their space needs and as time goes by, they're finishing my sentences when I’m making décor suggestions. 4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired? I love to browse through my National Geographic magazines to get inspired. There are so many images that make me happy and I often use the colors in the images for color schemes. 5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps? Before turning to this field, I longed for a way to use my creative thoughts. I longed for the day that I would be able to make other people happy by making their home beautiful. If you want to join this field, follow your dreams and don’t let anyone tell you that you NEED a special education, training, or affiliation to design or decorate homes. What you need is love for interiors, love for helping people, and patience. Everything else you’ll learn with time.
