1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?
My design style is influenced by bold color, abstract prints and my desire to create something unique for my customers. My creative aesthetic combines rustic elements and modern elegance blended with East-meets-West ethnically inspired prints.
2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?
I start with my sketchpad/markers and first determine my color palette. I pay attention to what is trending by following Pantone color reports & fashion trends. I am inspired to design new prints based on trends I like.
3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?
There are many – but whom I admire the most are those creative entrepreneurs & crafters who make a daily effort to put themselves out there to pursue their entrepreneurial endeavors and creative passions.
4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?
I am inspired by the colors and patterns in nature. In nature we see abstract prints with brilliant color schemes and this inspires many of my designs and collections.
5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
My design career has been a journey with many twists and turns! It initially started in 2009 with a desire to be a fashion designer. After moving into a new home I discovered a new passion for interior decorating. Since 2014, my design career has shifted again and I’ve discovered a love for textile design. My advice: embrace the twists and turns as it will lead you to new opportunities.
