1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

My style morphs depending on the feeling or vibe of the space I want to create. Style alone is one dimensional. I continually curate and edit until I know my client will make an emotional connection with the design

2) When starting a new project what is your creative process?

I'm a design magazine junky and I love to begin a project with a lot of daydreaming and picture clipping till I get the 'aha moment'. Once I have a clear vision for the design, the execution is easy.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

Out of the people I work with, I can honestly say that there Is no single person. I have enormous admiration and respect for so many of the trades-people that I work with. These are Some of the attributes they have in common- dependability, hard working, integrity, take pride in their work and would never cut corners to complete a job if it was taking longer than planned. My favorite tradespeople work with me as a team with the singular goal of satisfying our clients.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

I love the quiet spaciousness of nature, parks, gardens and also museums. It can be as simple as walking my dog and noticing the light around the moon and I can feel inspired. Peace and quiet works wonders for me.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

When I went back to school in mid-life and earned a 2nd degree which was in Interior Design, I KNEW that I would be successful. I believed in myself but I also worked very hard to achieve my goals. I had a business to run and two children who were soon to be in college. Not only did it take incredible discipline to go back to school but I realized that was only preparing me for the dedication and focus I would need to run a successful design business. For people looking to follow in my footsteps, I would advise to cultivate an appreciation for all periods of art and architecture, volunteer for habitat for humanity and experience what its like to build a house, learn business ethics and accounting skills.
