1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

Global Chic would probably be the best description of my design aesthetic. I have been incorporating finds from around the world into my work from the very first space I designed 14 years ago.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

It often starts with a singular object. It can be a great rug, a piece of art, a color my client loves. Everything else falls into place from there.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

I work with creative people every day but I guess a group I admire most are fine artists whose works become intricate parts of spaces I design. Many of those working relationships developed into friendships and I’m always in awe watching my friends create their masterpieces.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

Travel has always been my greatest inspiration. If I can’t travel, it’s walks on the beach that center me and help the creative thoughts flow.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

Curiosity for all things new. Learning from those who walked this path before. But first and foremost, willingness to take risks. Those are the 3 major habits that brought me where I’m today. To be a good designer you have to keep your eyes open, be a good listener, and always say “yes” to opportunities, even if they seem scary at first.
