1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

I love adding pops of color through accent pieces like chairs, pillows, throws, and accent pieces. I believe that a house should be quirky, comfortable, and fun.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

I usually see something I love and then try to figure out how I can turn it into a DIY project. I spend hours online looking for similar projects and then usually just jump in with both feet and hope it works out!

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

It’s my dream to one day work with Sabrina Soto. She and I have very similar styles, and I love how she’s always trying to figure out how to save money in her decorating, whether it’s by DIYing, going vintage or just finding something similar for less.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

For DIY projects, you can’t beat Pinterest as a source of inspiration. There is pretty much no end to what you can find on there. For decorating {and dreaming about my dream home!}, I always turn to Houzz. While the houses and rooms {and usually what’s in them!} are way, way out of my budget, I can always get ideas and then try to recreate them for much less.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

I’ve always loved writing and DIYing, so my blog is a perfect way for me to marry those two passions while being at home for my 3 boys. My advice is to make a list of the things that you love doing, and then brainstorm ways for you to make them into your career. Life is too short to be stuck doing something you hate.
