1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

My style pairs functionality and comfort with a casual elegance that is timeless.  I create spaces that make the ordinary extraordinary, and reflect the unique personalities of my clients.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

I talk with my clients to learn more about them.  And I look for a focal point such as a hobby, a great piece of art or an heirloom we might use as inspiration for the final design.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

These men and women each have passion for what they do, are focused on getting the best result, and enjoy collaborating.  I love working in an atmosphere of mutual respect; it’s where creativity thrives.  In addition, although I never worked with him, Frank Lloyd Wright’s architecture is transformative; I admire his conviction in what were then absolutely unique, ground-breaking designs.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

My clients are often my inspiration.  After talking with them, I get outdoors to be inspired by the colors and patterns that nature provides.  That helps expand my thinking to incorporate new ideas.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

My love of design has taught me to go with my instincts, and not worry so much about the Design Rules.  I strive for improvement… stay current to stay fresh.  And as I had to do in my former corporate life, being very driven is helpful, not only when creating a design, but also as a small business owner.  It’s all about keeping track of the many details!
