1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

My design aesthetic tends to be minimalistic. For me, the best designs are ones that are evolved, where solutions fuse elegantly to provide a beautiful, simple answer.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

Often I start by reflecting on the key objectives of the project and try to find a concept that combine them efficiently. Many initial thoughts get scribbled into a sketchbook I carry everywhere I go. Over the years I’ve composed a volume of sketchbooks and it’s nice to thumb through them sometimes.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

I’ve been fortunate to have worked with many creative types, but if I had to choose, my wife takes the cake. She’s also in the creative field and I bounce ideas off of her all the time. Her perspective adds a broader cultural dimension and is always timeless.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

Inspiration is elusive. Many times the answer to a problem can be found in disparate places, so I try to look at and consider as many things as possible. Good music and a serene environment also help.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

I had to chase a different dream to realize that design and art was my natural calling. It’s difficult to know what the right path is. Many times life does not align to one’s genius, but those elements that define who we truly are, seem to come into alignment piece by piece with awareness and persistent happy dedication.
