1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

I love unusual combinations because I find the element of surprise engaging. I want my space to tell my story. I apply those same values to product design. Each piece offers a unique history.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

I find inspiration from travels. I incorporate unique materials and traditional designs, working with artisans, to create beautiful products that have authentic stories to tell.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

I have met so many incredible people through the design community who inspire me and have wowed me with their generous support. I am most inspired by our artisan partners. These individuals have skill that has been passed down from generation to generation. Many of our partners are led by female entrepreneurs who are just as passionate about supporting me and my business as our team. That’s why we do what we do.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

I create and curate products that are rooted in traditional crafts. So, for inspiration I educate myself about fabrics and other handwork with rich stories to offer, always created in under-resourced communities.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

My advice is to do what you love and surround yourself with a support system. My belief in our product helps me push through difficulties I face. I have an incredibly smart and innovative team of people who each bring complementary skills to the table, and who make everyday and every challenge fun. And finally, I’m backed by friends and family who believe in me.
