1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

I think most importantly I need our home to feel comfortable.  I need our home to be realistic.  I love white couches but with 2 kiddos, it would never stay white. Our home is filled with a little farm style, a little vintage, some family memories and a few little quirks.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

Usually my projects start with a “what do I need for this corner?”  Or “what do I need for that shelf”.  Decorating is like a puzzle. You need pieces to fit into areas, or spots in your home.  And for me, if I can’t buy it, then I figure out if I can make it.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

I have a great group of girls I do a monthly themed party with.  It was so amazing to build a relationship, learn the business and make each other laugh.  These women, who I finally met this year have inspired me, stunned with their talent and made me giggle like no one can!  Christy with Confessions of a Serial Do it Yourselfer, Abby with Just a Girl and Her Blog, April with House by Hoff and Krista with the Happy Housie.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

Pinterest and magazines are my go-to for inspiration.  It’s so neat that we have so much available to us to feed off of and create some new ideas.  I think these just help you move into the right direction so you can find something that may fit for just you and your home.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

I really just became a sponge and tried to soak up any information I could. I think that is what building a business or success is all about you.  You can never know everything.  You will always continue to learn and when you do, it keeps you open to new ideas, new adventures and maybe even thinking outside the box.  Building relationships has also been very beneficial not only a personal level of friendship but also on a professional level as colleges.  Some of these women I have met with blogging have truly changed my life and I have felt a huge bond with but yet never met them!
