1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

I’m inspired by Asian culture, antique textiles and the beauty of the natural world. My style is decorative, joyful, elegant and sophisticated. Chinoiserie with a twist.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

I research first in many ways – online, travel, library, museums, shopping, films, magazines). Then I create storyboards to define colour & style. Next stage is developing concepts thru to final artwork.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

I feel very blessed to have worked with many talented people around the world. Ida Farkas is a Italian creative director, colour & trend forecaster and design guru. I admire her integrity, taste & style and most importantly her generosity with sharing her knowledge and experience. I caught up with her recently in Rome, and hopefully, we’ll be collaborating again soon on a project.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

I always find inspiration when I am travelling. It’s always colour which attracts my attention first then the design, shape and pattern come later.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

Love what you do and make sure you’re true to yourself. It’s your unique point of view, which will bring you success. Don’t copy what other people are doing and try to work in lots of different places to challenge yourself. Never ever stop learning new things.
