Sheer Curtains

If you’re not concerned about light control or plan to pair your curtains with blinds, then sheer curtains could be a great choice for you. Sheer or voile curtains are more decorative than practical, but they can really add to a room. They are light and floaty which means they can be used as a way to accent the existing design. Voile curtains are a great way to add some texture into the room without being too overpowering.

Floral Patterns

Floral patterned curtains are quite common and can range from the more subtle, dainty patterns to louder bold floral patterns. Depending on the décor of your living room, florals could either make a statement and be a focal point or blend in and complement the existing design of the room. The beauty of florals is that they are extremely versatile and if you choose a pattern which incorporates a multitude of colours and shades, you have a variety of options for when you redecorate your living room.

Colour Blocking

If you are looking to make a bold statement with your living room curtains, colour blocking is a great trend to look into. Colour blocked is best when a bright statement colour is paired with a neutral palette. If you keep the palette neutral for walls and furniture you can add coloured accents in the accessories and a pop of the same colour with statement curtains. By keeping a neutral palette overall, you can always switch up the colour as you please. Some bright colours which complement a neutral palette include corals, pinks and oranges.

Blackout Curtains

As the living room is where most people spend the majority of their time, especially in the evenings you may be looking for the best light control and privacy options. Blackout curtains provide the best light control and privacy; whilst still adding an element of luxury to the room due to their heavy appearance. You can choose the pattern and colours to suit you and still get the benefit of a blackout lining.

Velvet Curtains

Velvet curtains are becoming increasingly popular, they’re a modern yet luxurious choice for living room curtains. They can really bring the entire room together and look plush and expensive.
