1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

I have always been inspired by pieces that reflect the nature of their production; I like to see the fingerprints in the clay! Organic colours, natural materials, evidence of craftsmanship.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

Talk it out - to anyone who'll listen. There's no creative substitute for wine and conversation. And lists.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

My bestie, Jessica Diplock, owner of The Brighton Beard Company. I worked with her while Good Times was in its early stages, and she was an indispensable and generous giver of knowledge (and hugs). Jess always has a clear visual in her mind of what it is she's looking to achieve, and this consistency is evident throughout her brand. She's also my Photoshop guru, so I'd be pretty stuck without her.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

Stepping back. If I'm really stuck in a rut I'll go for a walk in the woods with my fiance. Something about the trees and the fresh air always leaves me with plenty of new ideas.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

Surround yourself with good people. In starting The Good Times Homestore, (and our sister company, Perryman's Fine Woodworking), we have been supported immensely by our wonderful family and friends. Get good at cooking thank you dinners, and always take suggestions on board.
