All roman blinds over 130cm will contain a join, as most fabrics are approximately 137cm wide.
If the blind requires a join, then each blind will have a centralised panel of full width fabric, with 2 small panels either side. They are joined in this way to balance the blind, and to avoid the join being in the centre of the blind.
If you require any further information on whether your required blind will be joined, then please contact our customer service team before placing your order.
All Roman blinds are manufactured with a tolerance of +/-5mm.
Where you specify a recess size for your blind, we will deduct a small amount to ensure that your blind will clear your window.

For this head rail type you will be supplied with a retaining device, which should be fitted to keep the chain taught, to prevent children from getting tangled up on the chain. The advantage of this type of arrangement is that you do not have to remove the safety device to operate the blind and therefore provided the retaining device is properly fitted, there should be no instance of the chain hanging free

Fitting your Roman Blind
When fitting your blind, you will need to use the appropriate fixing depending on what type of surface you are fixing your blind to.
Here are some ideas as to what might work for you
For fixing directly into a wooden window, wood screws are likely to be the best option. We would recommend wood screws of at least 25mm, or longer if your frame allows, to ensure a secure fixing.
Some customers do decide to fit Roman blinds using wood screws or similar to uPVC windows. We would not recommend you do this, as it can invalidate any warranty you may have with your window supplier. We would recommend that you fix the blind to the wall above the window, using appropriate fixings for your wall type.
Fixing to a Wall
When fixing a Roman blind to a wall, you will need to use either Raw Plugs or Hollow wall fixings.
Please bear in mind, that when you raise and lower your blind, you will exert more force on that side of the blind, so make sure the fixings are strong on that side.
Please feel free to call our customer service team who will be more than happy to help if you feel you need any more help fitting your blind. If they are struggle, we can liaise with our in-store fitting team to help resolve your query.
Headrail Options & Wide Roman Blinds
Our standard headrail supplied with these roman blinds, is a simple side pull headrail with integral cord lock, that is ideal for small blinds. A cleat tidy is included with each standard headrail.
In addition, there is the option to upgrade to a deluxe headrail option, that has a chain side winder. We always recommend for larger blinds over 1.5m wide, that you choose this option, as once blinds get over 1.5m wide, they can become heavy to raise and lower. The geared mechanism in the sidewinder headrail cuts down on the effort required, and also greatly reduce the risk that the blinds fixings may pull away.
We only recommend the standard headrail for blinds over 1.5m wide if they are decorative, or are raised infrequently.
Using Roman Blinds
Roman blinds are a great contemporary window treatment, that offer s clean, uncluttered look in a window.
However, there are a couple of pointers to be aware of to ensure that your blinds are suitable for your window.
If your Roman blind is in a window that gets a lot of sun, then fading can be a problem. This is because when the blind is raised, the bottom of each fold can fade in a line, which means when you lower the blind, you can get fade stripes on your blind.
Whilst it may not be possible to eliminate this, choosing a 100% synthetic fibre material will greatly reduce this, as synthetic fabrics do not fade in the same way the natural fabrics do.
