Blind Specifications

The blind that you order will be made to the dimensions that you specify (within a 5mm tolerance). If you order a recess blind size,(i.e. you specify the size of your recess, a small amount will be deducted from the size you have given to ensure that the blind fits within the sides of the window.

There is a draw cord to control the opening and closing of the blinds and a chain to operate the tilt. There are also options available for how you require the louvres to bunch together on opening. See the help provided draw options selection box.

The type of fixing must be specified at the time of order. Top fix (top of window recess or ceiling) or face fix (to the window frame or wall above window). All the necessary brackets and fixings are supplied.

Fixing your Vertical Blinds

When fitting your blind, you need to use the fixing as appropriate for the type of wall or window you are installing against.

Here are some tips to guide you

Wooden Windows

If you are fixing to a wooden window, then wood screws would be the best option. We would recommend wood screws between 20-25mm if your frame allows to make sure that the blind is properly fixed.

PVC Windows

While it is possible to fix blinds using wood screws or similar into uPVC windows, this is not something we would recommend as this may invalidate any warranty you may have with your window supplier.  Given this scenario we would recommend that you fix the blind to the wall above the window, either inside or outside the window, using the correct fixings for your wall type.

Fixing to a Wall

Fixing a blind to a wall, will require you to choose the appropriate fixings for your wall type.

Raw Plugs or Hollow wall fixings are all acceptable, but please bear in mind, that when you raise and lower your blind,  you may exert a little pulling force on that side of the blind, so make sure the fixings are particularly well seated on that side.
