How to measure your window for pelmets and wraps

Width

The pelmet track or pelmet board must be fitted before the measurements are taken. Pelmet tracks need to clear the curtain track. Please allow a minimum of 5cm on either side. We would recommend that the depth of the pelmet track (B) should be at least 10cm deep. We recommend 15cm.

This is to ensure that when the curtains are drawn back, they do not push against the pelmet. Pelmet boards can be supported simply, by using right angled brackets along the length. We recommend pelmet boards are used as opposed to pelmet tracks, as they are more rigid. Velcro and/or staples etc. can easily be used to achieve a number of pelmet treatments.

Extended pelmet track

When using an extended pelmet track add the measurements A, B and C together to get the total width measurement.

Length

The drop measurement for your pelmet will be calculated for you in proportion to the length of your curtains.

Simple wrap pelmet

As an alternative to the use of a pole, we recommend using a pelmet board as above with curtain holdbacks screwed into the board to support the wrap. This also has the added advantage of allowing enough room for curtains to draw back without pushing into the pelmet.

Single wrap pelmet

You need to order the total finished length of the wrap from tail to tail. To do this you need to measure across the top of the window between the two points where the pelmet with be draped (A to B). Then measure the length of the tail (C to D). We recommend a minimum of 71cm for this measurement. Double this measurement and add it to 'A to B' for total length.
