BLAK CHILDRENS FABRIC
When considering a colour scheme for a child’s room you may not think of black straight away; however, modern and contemporary nurseries and children’s room can look stunning using black childrens fabric as an accent. These stunning fabrics are the perfect choice in a monochromatic colour scheme; they also look fabulous in older children’s rooms where they’ll make bright primary or neon colours pop.
Black is a dramatic colour and undoubtedly you have to be brave to use it in a nursery or a young child’s bedroom. However, it’s also a great master of disguises and will hide many mucky fingerprints when used as an alternative to wallpaper. You simply use starch as the adhesive, which many parents prefer as it doesn’t contain the fungicides and chemicals that many wallpaper pastes do. Children’s bedrooms with a Victorian theme, complete with a black wrought iron bed, can benefit from including black fabrics for their soft furnishings and accessories to bring the room together. You’ll also find that older teens will insist on having a black bedroom; it’s up to you whether you go with their choice or not, however, a compromise to include the tactile nature of fabrics is a great way to soften the look.
