This week we're going to provide you with some interior design ideas for adding a touch of sparkle to your home. This doesn't mean Christmas trees and tinsel! We're going to offer some tips on how you can add a luxe look to your home without making your interior look tacky! As such, probably the best approach is to go gently by beginning with just a subtle changes and then gradually increase the sparkle until you get a chic and very stylish look which is bang on-trend this season. Floors: If you have highly polished floors then you already have a good base for this style, however, in reality few of us have marble floors with a glass finish surface! Choose light coloured flooring, either carpet of wood and keep it as devoid of clutter as you can as this will help to give the illusion of more space and chic styling. Add stylish cheap rugs for warmth and comfort in front of seating. Walls: Pale ivory, off-white or even a silver grey will work well for walls; remember to add sparkle to your living room you're going to have to use as much natural light as you can during the day, so opt for satin paint finishes which will help reflect the light. Metallic wallpapers would also work well, especially on a feature wall. Windows: Keep window dressings light yet glamorous. Full length cream curtains teamed with full length white voile panels or modern net curtains provide an intimate window dressing which is unpretentious yet refined and elegance. Use curtain rails for a soft smooth look which is unobtrusive and doesn't detract from the curtains or drapes. Lighting: Lighting is going to be the mainstay of the style. Use large modern or re-claimed chandeliers to add a real touch of sparkle to your living room. In dull corners Tiffany styled table lamps will not be out of place and will subtly brighten these dark areas. Accessories: Mirrors will help to make a room look larger as well as help light, both natural and artificial, to infiltrate into the room. Place large ornate mirrors on chimney breasts or on the opposite wall to your window if you have a small living room. Glass topped coffee tables or any coffee table with a reflective surface will help to draw the style together beautifully.
