60 minute makeover 8: neutral colours don't have to be boring!
This time the team had a good basis on which to start their makeover as most of the walls were painted pale, neutral yet boring colours which were out-dated and made the rooms lack any real identity. The first room was transformed into a stunning nursery. Blues were used to give the room longevity and a look that won't date. Using Nova white curtains, hung from a classical County pole in cream, and used in conjunction with blackout white roller blinds the window dressing was both stylish and practical.
Once the team had worked their magic on the main bedroom it was turned into a modern space with a classical look. The boring, bland neutrals were bought bang up to-date with Julian Charles Liberty range of beautiful bedding, contrasting with the cream roller blinds and curtains hung from a modern chrome Nikola pole. Dark wooden furniture gave the room a look of luxury and comfort. The living/dining area was originally well decorated but hadn't moved on with the times.
Now it has a new lease of life with stylish a Hessian blackout roller blind, to provide privacy and reduce light pollution during the evenings, coordinated with stunning patterned Adelaide duckegg curtains and matching Adelaide duckegg cushions which picked out the blue from the fireplace tiles to tie the rooms together effortlessly. This makeover proves that by choosing neutral colours rooms don't have to be boring – the neutral colour palette encompasses a range of stylish colours without a hint of magnolia anywhere in sight!
