2015 AW Design Trends – Finding Realism
Finding Realism is one of this seasons hottest interior design trends. The concept is about distinguishing between what is real and authentic. Our world being driven by images, we're bombarded with visual stimuli; using digital mastery objects can be enlarged, pixelated, tweaked, distorted, enhanced, de-constructed, the list of possibilities seems endless.
As such, these adjustments make us question what is truly 'real'? Within interior design this trend sees a playful approach to geometrics; gives us a new sense of space; complex patterns are created via light and material giving magical affects; optical patterns are used to create illusion with stripes evolving into 3D.

Tartans and plaids are perfect for the autumn/winter season. They don't have to be a genuine family tartan, the fusion of the cheques in soothing colour combinations give a room a warm, cosy and homely look.

Geometrics give a retro vibe to a home, using them in unusual ways, e.g. on the celling, brings the look bang up to-date.
Home Designing
Using a variety of materials means shapes and patterns occur naturally; these can be further enhanced by natural or artificial light sources.
Decoist
It's not only living rooms that can use the trend. Bathrooms are a great place to pose the scenario of 'reality'.
My Decorative
Enhance straight, square lines with gentle curves to soften the look. The use of concrete and 'hard' materials asks the question 'is this real?'
Kravet Typepad
The overuse of geometrics can create playfulness, distracting the eye and make us look closer into the design.
