1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

My work is functional, minimal and playful, existing at the intersections of art, design, and craft.  I’m interested in creating objects that tell a story through their function and sculpture that captures fleeting moments.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

I start with an idea or concept and then I am researching, drawing, and building sketch models.  There is always first a process of expansion and then focus.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

Collaborations are always my favorite creative projects because they take me in unexpected and exciting new directions.  I am particularly fond of my collaborations with Thought for Food because these were conceptual, unique, and ultimately artful experiences that we could share with people.  Because our diverse expertise, together we would build off of each other’s’ talents.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

I love to travel and wander, it always creates a fresh lens for noticing the details in daily life.  Also books and podcasts endlessly inspire new ideas.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

Pay attention to what you enjoy and explore what you are drawn toward, if you don’t know then just try it out.  In time, you find that even disparate jobs and practices eventually connect.  This approach has led me to establishing a career that feels uniquely me, and more like an adventure than work.
