1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

My style replicates what the natural world shows us. It is elemental, wild, and slightly overgrown.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

My process always starts with a visioning walk in my neighborhood that is wonderfully landscaped. While walking, I  choose the showstopper,  texture, contrast, and whimsical elements for the events.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

McKenzie Powell for sure. She and her team have such a way of creating elegant floral and event designs. I think a key in any creative process is having a relaxed and open posture for inspiration to thrive. The vibe while creating with her was easeful, artful, and fun.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

I find most of my inspiration through observing nature. My husband and I hike anywhere from 8-15 miles a week in the Pacific Northwest. I find observing botanicals in nature is the best course I could ever take on design structure.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

Stubbornly doing what I love and making a business out of it. My advice: Trust that your deepest desires and interests are worth following. It is your vitality. When you feel inspired create and create often. Set aside sacred time each day to do your creative work. Find the people that support your secret dreams and hold them close and speak your dreams.  Finally, go read Big Magic by Elizabeth and listen to her podcast.
