1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

I definitely veer towards pieces that are colourful and have a quirky design.  I like to stock items that have a little something extra to set them apart and make them really special.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

As a retailer I know straight away if a brand is suitable for us and will fit in with our style.  If it doesn’t make me excited to sell it, then it’s not the right one for us.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

Whilst I don’t get to work with them directly, we’re very fortunate to stock some fabulous brands with great designers behind them.  We’ve just starting selling Hazel Village by Jane Van Cleef and we’re also very lucky to stock the wonderful Moulin Roty.  Both create exciting ranges with that extra special touch that I always look for.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

Trade shows are really good.  Not only is it refreshing to get a change of scene, I also get to view lots of lovely new products.  It definitely motivates me and I come back to the website with more energy and lots of fresh ideas.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

Having never set out to run a website it was definitely a case of learning on the job.  Luckily we had time on our side which enabled us to properly establish ourselves.  I love what I do and couldn’t imagine doing anything else.  Be prepared to work hard, learn from mistakes and don’t give up.
