1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

I like a variety of styles. Neutrals and natural fibers with pops of color are my signature.  I love to mix vintage pieces with current trends.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

I rarely start a project knowing exactly how I’ll finish it.  I start with a paint color and don’t hesitate to experiment and change directions until I like where it’s going.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

My mom, Vicki.  Growing up, my mom dabbled in all things creative.  She knows how to do a little bit of everything, from sewing to painting to arranging flowers.  We run our blog and small furniture painting business together, and I feel lucky to have such a talented person to help guide me.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

There’s a small town near my home that’s full of antique and craft shops.  An afternoon walking through these shops always gets my creativity flowing.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

I’m here because I took a leap.  After months of struggling internally, I quit my job to do what speaks to my heart.  The universe has a way of putting things in your path.  My advice is to trust your gut and don’t be afraid to take chances.
