1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

My style is colourful, eclectic, graphical and full of life! I bring vibrant colour combinations, bold geometrics and mid-century modern elegance to my homeware designs.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

Colour is very significant for my homeware, so establishing a clever colour palette is my first step. I design patterns using a combination of hand drawn imagery and CAD, always keeping the end product in mind.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

I have the greatest respect for all independent designers, artists, bloggers and retailers, who are putting everything into their business. One of the first collaborative projects I worked on was with embroidery artist Alice Kettle. Her strong work ethic, calm approach and vast knowledge made the project an enjoyable and rewarding experience throughout.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

I have a sketchbook, which I’m constantly filling with inspiring images, photographs, doodles, annotations, and colour swatches. It’s a rather old-school way of working but it definitely helps my ideas develop.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

A passion for what I do, determination and working beyond my comfort zone occasionally/often! I have also learned the importance of a work life balance and would encourage others to make time for themselves, as well as their business. My ideas are bolder when I take a step back once in a while.
