1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

Modern vintage eclectic. I really like to mix styles.  I have no problem pairing a french chair with a vintage 1950’s lamp and a bold, modern print. I think that’s the fun part of decorating.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

I actually like to take long walks and clear my mind and then see what comes to me. There is something about it,being out in nature, that helps me tap into my creativity. I always start with that with any new project. I also like to find one inspiration like a piece of fabric or color story and go from there.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

There are really quite a few. I find so many people inspiring. I recently did a design house for charity and it was really awesome the way each designer embraced what their own style was in their rooms. I loved seeing what came out of each person and admired the beauty in what they did. I am always inspired and love working with Jeanne Oliver, she and I are really good at brainstorming.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

I have to admit, there isn’t one building I love on it’s own, but I am a real estate stalker. I love looking at real estate apps on my phone and taking the virtual tours of all of the homes on the market for sale. It’s a guilty pleasure for me.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

I actually found myself doing design and artwork for friends, and my business grew word of mouth. I took art/design classes later in life. Looking back now, I wish I had followed my passion and completed my education sooner rather than later. My advice would be to follow a passion for school. If you follow your passion, you’ll enjoy every minute.
