1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

I enjoy comfortable and casual decor that is timeless, but also has great rustic and texture qualities. When you have kids, casual is a must!

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

I first like to find out what is the lifestyle of the individuals that are going to use the space. Designing interiors that work for homeowners is about putting their life into a beautiful package.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

Out of all the creative people I know, I have to go back to my mother. ☺ From an early age I remember her thinking every interior detail through from wallpaper to reupholstering furniture. She always had a designer eye that I suppose I inherited. To this day she still has a great eye for sculpture and design.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

Nature. Growing up in Colorado I lived in the foothills amongst trees, wildlife, and gorgeous sunsets against the Rocky Mountains. Now living in Florida I’m still inspired by natural woods, foliage and recurring patterns in nature.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

A lot of perseverance and patience has brought me here. Once a practicing Associate Architect now a home lifestyle blogger and designer has taught me to be fluid in your life goals. Just because you map out a plan doesn’t mean you have to stick with it 100%. ☺
