1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

I like to work on designs that suit my client so all of my projects are different. Personally my own home reflects my love of travelling and is quite glam!

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

It starts with the client, what are their tastes, colour preferences and what suits the house. I then scour my concept files, blogs and pinterest for inspirational images that suit.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

I really admire the work of artist Joanna Srokol and we have collaborated together on several projects. She is a textile designer specialising in printed patterns and beautiful mark making. We made curtains from a print of one of her paintings and they look fantastic.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

On a busy day in the studio it’s hard to have space to be creative. I like to walk around Edinburgh’s beautiful center, 5 minutes from work, and have space to think.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

I have a commercial background and changed careers in my 30’s. Being an interior designer is as much about working with people, managing budgets and delivering projects to timescales as well as the creative side. It definitely helps to have a good grounding in maths and accounts as well as being artistic.
