1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

I believe in being true to myself and to nature from where I come. I do not look around me and try to follow trends.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

I allow space in which new ideas can form – I let my imagination free and it will find startling results before my rational mind can intervene.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

Outside my own design team, whom I respect and admire enormously, I have not worked with anyone else. I am mildly interested in the work of some other designers but they have nothing to do with my work.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

I go alone into the mountains or wilderness. I don’t find ideas there, nor do I think about them, but deep in the void things rearrange themselves and appear . . .

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

Many, many long hours of patient work – nothing happens quickly. Don’t expect overnight success, just be persistent and believe in yourself. There is only one of you and if you are true to yourself your work will be unique and without artifice.
