1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

I aim to create a beautifully layered interior that is aesthetically superb and comfortable for the client. Very well curated but something you can live in!

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

I like to talk to the clients and walk through the house, if it is existing. I can usually figure out a lot of what I want to do with a space, as far as scheming and coming up with a color sense, by being in it. I always shop as soon as I get a new project for that particular client/house. That way I have a fresh approach and I start to build a story.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

Richard Keith Langham really pushes the envelope and pays particular attention to detail. His work is exquisite and I believe creatively he is a genius.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

I live in NYC and I travel a lot, so I am inspired all the time. I try to shop locally when I am traveling, and I take a lot of photos with my phone. It is so great to see what images seep into your subconscious and inspire creative decisions. A photo from a vacation can morph into an idea, and a year or two after the photo was taken I can see how it translated into my client’s home.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

To be honest, hard work has gotten me to where I am. None of this happened overnight. But being diligent and working hard and trying to go the extra mile for my clients so the end result is great for them, and aesthetically pleasing for me, is how I have gotten this far. Being great at what you do takes practice and practice makes perfect! My advice is if you work your ass off, it will eventually pay off. I also believe in being consistent. Trust yourself and do not be overly impressed with trends. Also never, ever phone it in!
