1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

My design aesthetic-I would say it most certainly reflects my approach to design. Be authentic-there’s only one you…so be it! It’s easiest being who you were created to be. Balance-be it a playful take on it or a strict symmetrical approach, I think that in life, as well as design, there needs to be a harmonious balance between the parts that make the whole. I believe in mixing it up-I like a dash of the unexpected. I think the mix adds personality and begins to create a space that is uniquely yours.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

I usually like to see the kinds of things my clients love…things in their wardrobe, a favorite chair, a piece of artwork, a favorite photo. I also look to see if I can pick out the “thing” that repeats itself. Is it a color? Is it a pattern? Chances are it’s a reflection of the client’s taste.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

Wow-there are so many people that have shaped my perspective I think. A dear friend and colleague of mine, has an amazing talent for making what seems overwhelming and utterly tiresome, look absolutely effortless. I want to do that when I grow up!

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

I exist in the world and by default am constantly inspired. It doesn’t take much-the inspiration is everywhere.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

I’m always learning and growing both as a professional and as a person. I’m here because I’m a student of design with a desire to know more. It is the goal to be better than I was yesterday, that keeps me on my toes.
