1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?
Definitely eclectic. In my home I love to mix vintage with modern, along with a few ethnic pieces and different styles of artwork.
2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?
The nature of being a blogger, it’s really about seeing something that inspires me in my everyday life at home, out and about, or online, and sharing that idea or thoughts on it, with my readers.
3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?
I have a huge admiration for my blogging peers. A lot of them work tirelessly to bring interesting content to their readers in the name of passion and quite often they do it for free. Along with that, it would have to be people in the industry that I’ve interviewed for my “5 Decorating Questions” column on the blog. Each of them are successful, passionate and have their very own unique sense of style.
4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?
I always like a good story. It could be the way something is made, or how somebody arrived where they are in the industry today. To me, that would give the blog post or article an edge, so I would generally search for that.
5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
The beauty of writing a blog is that anybody can do it. I took the opportunity of being at home with my children with a desire to do something creative. My two loves, writing and interiors were a perfect marriage, that and consistancy. My advice to anyone wishing to write a blog is to go for it, but always be true to who you are, and don’t try to imitate successful blogs. Create your own stamp and people will notice.
