1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

My personal style is a bit of a mix – I love to combine traditional and contemporary elements and give them twist. However when designing for my clients it is all about reflecting their personal style into their home so that it represents their individuality and aesthetic.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

Design is totally a process and it usually evolves over the course of a project. I spend time getting to know my client, I do a lot of observation, note taking, sketching, ask loads of questions, I measure everything and I take a lot of pictures. From there it is off to the drawing board. Once an initial design is presented the true evolution of the design begins to take shape and a design solution evolves.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

This changes, daily, monthly, weekly and yearly….as I grow and evolve in my design life I have been blessed to know, meet and work with some amazingly talented people…to name just one is impossible. Beyond creative talent, I most admire and respect a person who openly demonstrates honesty, integrity and professionalism within both their personal and professional lives. These attributes are most important to me and I find admirable, this is the person and designer I strive to be.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

When I am looking for inspiration I often reflect on my own personal travels and experiences. Traveling and exploring different cultures, visiting and touring historical venues, staying in a luxury resort, strolling along the beach, taking a bike ride, hiking through the mountains and spending a weekend camping are but a few ways I get inspired.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

I have gotten to where I am because after all these years I still love what I do and I am still striving to learn more and become better at what I do. My advice would be to love what you do, see, hear, learn and absorb as much as you can, become knowledgeable in what you do and feed your creativity.
