1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

Approachable, Colorful and Charming. I like creating interiors that people who normally might be intimidated by design can relate to. Adding color and charm help keep my designs from feeling boring and safe.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

Understanding the clients needs and style come first. I find images that help interpret their thoughts and use as inspiration. I keep an eye out wherever I go and take mental note and lots of pictures of anything I find interesting. I then mix our collaborative inspirational images and mix with my ideas to create a design concept tailored to them.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

I honestly have to say my husband. He’s not creative in the traditional sense, but we’ve been working a lot more together and am constantly inspired by his knowledge. He’s basically become my business manager. I admire how well he can articulate his ideas. And most recently, what a great cook he’s become.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

I open up my design books and read as much information as I can gather. It’s like having multiple mentors and learning by the best in the industry. I get lost in each image and try to pick up as many details.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

Dedication. I continue to keep going and believing in myself. I’m not any where near as successful as I’d like to be but I’m a lot further than when I started. Seeing that growth is what helps me keep going. As for advice, get as much experience as you can as early as you can. Real life experience with clients, even if they’re just friends at first, is priceless.
