1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

I tend towards a transitional style in my home; however, I appreciate elements of all design styles. When creating home decor collections for my blog, I look for beautiful and unique pieces across all design styles.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

I begin a design project by gathering inspiration from a photo, textile, or design element that interests me. I use this inspiration to develop a theme or color story for the design collection I am creating.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

I have been very lucky to have come across many creative people since starting my business. I have gained insight and inspiration from these wonderful designers, artists, bloggers, and entrepreneurs. I have a deep admiration for Artist Lise Meijer from Denmark. She created the beautiful artwork for my website and continues to be a creative inspiration for me.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

I listen to my favorite music- it helps me to relax and to get those “creative juices” flowing. I also love looking for beautiful pictures that inspire me.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

In 2011 I went on medical leave from my work as a physician due to a disabling medical condition. Eventually I found I was able to still find joy and purpose in my life by creating a blog that showcases beautiful, comforting, joyful, and inspirational items. My advice is to find a niche- something you are passionate about and to learn as much as you can about this area.
