Recently I came across an amazing blog post by Karine over at www.blog.bodieandfou.com [read here], being an avid interiors and home decor lover of all things crisp, clean and natural I fell in love with this post as soon as I set eyes on it. The fresh bright white walls, minimalist space, neutral tones, natural washed linen fabrics and all that good stuff got me gushing over the look of a natural theme and style of interiors. At the end of the post Karine asked “ Do you have any tips that you would like to share to achieve a natural look at home?” and feeling enthusiastically inspired I certainly have a few tips and tricks of my own to share with all of you.
Starting out my first tip has to be creating a minimalist space, like Karine said herself focus on freeing up your living area of all that clutter that you don’t need to keep things organised allowing the true character of your room’s style to shine through. If you find yourself with a room full of bits and bobs that you don’t know what to do with or where to start, one thing to do is maybe donate or give away one thing each day and surely soon enough your step towards a natural style home décor will have started.
The second little natural styling tip you can add to any space of your choice has to be making use of some truly beautiful neutral colour palettes. This can be anything from combining bright whites, beige, taupes, creams and greys together as these very earthy tones contrast beautifully creating a very fresh organic look and feel.
Once you’ve put together your own swatch colour palette all you need to do next is to collect together the perfect set of home accessories to truly match it. This could be anything from natural carved wood pieces, weave items and much more. Cotton textiles and woven knits are another little embellishment to try, with the fibre textures and intricacy of the weave who wouldn’t love curling up on the sofa with a chunky knit throw and matching cushions scattered here and there.
Last but not least adding a hint of nature and natural found wonder is something I love about bringing into my home décor to really add that natural organic look you maybe after. This could be anything from fresh flowers, dried, artificial, foliage and more just personalise it to your own taste.
So now that we’re all wrapped up here with lots of inspiration for natural style interiors, which natural décor tip did you like most?
