This week I’m focusing my attention on something we have in our homes in one form or another, and yet this fundamental part of our lives is often overlooked. Light and lighting choices can make all the difference to the look and feel of a room; get it right and it’s awesome, neglect it and the style of your room will suffer. Other bloggers are also highlighting lighting, so I’ve picked a few of my favourites to share with you.
If you’re thinking of changing your lighting this post is the perfect read. The images, complete with inspirational idea captions, show a range of pendant lights for different rooms. I hope you’ll agree the no-nonsense approach to this interior design blog is the perfect daily dose of inspiration.
I love this post itshows how, even on the tightest of budgets, you can bring a little individuality into your home. This light is fundamentally an exterior light, but you have to admit it look incredibly stylish inside as well.
If you love contemporary then you’ll adore these streamlined pendant lights for the kitchen. Grouped over the work counter they add style as well as light to the area – this style makes a real change from the usual kitchen pendant lights.
This post maybe about a great give-a-way, but I was immediately drawn to the fabulous floor lamp; the turned lathe work is superb with the whole thing being topped off by a plain white lampshade – it just goes to show that accessories and soft furnishings should always compliment the style of the room no matter how innocuous you think they may be.
Although this post by Kim is about interior designer Cailtin Wilson from Philadelphia, the images are full of inspiration and colour along with a fabulous array of table and floor lamps. With vibrant hues and some wonderfully patterned lampshades this post shows that no home should be without lamps; either table, floor or both.
