There’s been a buzz in Terry’s fabrics HQ this week about the the Brit awards, so in honour of our home grown talent we’ve decided to put together some design ideas inspired by a few of our favourite stars from this years nominees.

Our first Brit awards style star feature is Paloma Faith, with her theatrical vintage style we’re thinking luxe fabrics and embellishments galore!
Full length curtains in deep reds or minks are great with this type of décor; the red adds an element of drama to any room and is reminiscent of the theatre.
Embellishments play a central role in this dramatic ensemble, with beaded fringing and tassles being a great addition to cushions and throws. Balance out the room by having bleached wood flooring or natural carpets
For the bedroom you need plenty of pillows and scatter cushions to sink into, Satin and silky fabrics are the way to go if you really want to add that extra element of classic luxury.
Winning colour combinations are rich golds, minks, and purples, and to finish off the look don’t be afraid to use sequins, they’re an easy way to add the essential sparkle and shine to this super glamorous look.

Big and bold is our next direction as we move on to style star nominee number two Jessie J. With punchy colours and statement pieces, you can really have some fun with this style.
To liven up the palette of any living space bring in some contrasting colours, purple and green is a daring but complimentary combination , or why not go wild and bring some animal prints into the mix!
The first task to complete is finding a base colour for the walls. This needs to be bright without being overwhelming, such as pastels in pink and blue, and then you can add the contrast through accessories. This also allows you to change the colour combinations, for example you could have blue walls and orange accessories, but as only the accessories are orange you can change them quickly and easily.
Jessie WareRoom image source: Home Decorating Idea
Monochrome has really come back into the fashion spotlight recently, and Jessie Ware has definitely been a helping hand in its resurgence. This look is super simple and one of the easiest to recreate at home.
Start off with a blank canvas; white walls and light coloured floors, and then gradually build up the black. A black floor lamp and table is a good place to start, adding more interest with a contrast pattern on your rug and cushions, such as black and white stripes.
To get a bit of visual variety going on in the room make sure to pick furniture and items that are different textures and finishes such as highly polished glass surfaces and soft linens or leather. This will help to keep the eye entertained as well as creating a sleek, sophisticated, timelessly glamorous feel.
Monochrome artwork and photographs is a great way of tying together the whole room. Choose a mixture of black and white frames in varying sizes and have them scattered across one wall. This will make the room more homely and personal whilst maintaining the minimalist nature of the style.
With this great design inspiration, you don’t need to go to the ceremony to bring a little bit of the Brits home this year!
