As we count down our top 25 interior design blogs we’ve reached number 4.
Belle Maison is another interior design blog where the images speak a thousand words. Ideal for grabbing inspiration and snippets of related information and enticing enough to get you going back for more. The author, Julie Thigpen, shares personal moments with her readers as well as some great soft furnishings and interior design ideas.
The blog began back in 2008 and has grown steadily over the last 4 years. Super images accompany the text and we particularly like ‘quote of the week’ which really puts interior design into context.
Belle Maison isn’t just about large grandiose homes, it’s down to earth approach is easy to relate to and puts interior design into everyday perspective. Julie shows that you don’t need to spend a small fortune to achieve a particular look or style, what she does share is some plausible ideas that you can try to emulate or adapt for your own home.
With house tours and ‘reader room’ makeovers and guest bloggers all providing relevant, interesting and sometimes intriguing information, (these are great additions to keep the blog fresh and on-going while Julie takes time out to be with her new baby) there’s more to this blog than first meets the eye.
With easy navigation via Julie’s ‘ideas gallery’ you can skip to the posts your interested in if you’re pushed for time. Of course the Belle Maison is also on social networks to engage readers and their comments. Take time to look at Julie’s portfolio of interior design projects and you’ll see that Julie really has her finger on the interior design pulse.
