60 minute makeover 13: contemporary, modern bachelor pad

As we all know single men also need a home which reflects their personality and interests. The team set to work up-dating a cold and miserable looking living room which had no identity. By using a colour combination of gold, white and silver a luxurious and opulent bedroom was easily achieved.

Apart from the main furnishings the accessories of suede curtains in chocolate and Nova cushions in white blended beautifully with the Express white Venetian blind and Spirit curtain fabric in white to provide a truly modern sophisticated living room. With a featureless cream box as a bedroom the team used the American Preppy theme to transformed the main bedroom.

Using a mix of neutral browns, creams and tans the room now had a sense of purpose as a gentleman's retreat. Cheyenne roller blinds cream/caramel made the window look larger and allowed more light into the room. The bed was piled/stacked with stunning Jazz cushion in natural, Jazz cushion in chocolate, Jazz cushion in red and Nova cushions in white to coordinate with the bedding and colour scheme and was a great way to bring a variety of textures into the room.

In this makeover the former gloomy kitchen was turned into a bright contemporary space with a dining area. The metal Venetian blinds in silver complimented the new steel look appliances and accessories to perfection. As you can see with a little ingenuity and design flair even the most mundane and lifeless bachelor pads can be given a designer look.
