If plum is not your favourite colour there are plenty of other great colours being marked as this autumn/winter on-trends. Today we’re going to look at teal along with a number of ways you can bring this sophisticated, chic colour into your home.
As with any colour there are variations of shades and teal is no exception. This blue/green colour mix is being seem in its palest forms of duck-egg blue through to the darker teal tones. This colour is not to be taken lightly (excuse the pun!) you have to be a bold person to use this colour which warrants being used to create a glamorous and luxury interior.
Teal in the living room:
For a luxe living room using teal you’ll need to think along the lines of richly embellished fabrics, with cut crystal or glass chandeliers and coordinating cushions and throws.
Teal in the bedroom:
For a dramatic and sensuous look opt for super king bedding in white with contrasting blackout curtains in teal. Again think of luxury and use accessories which exude refined elegance. Boudoir cushions should be piled onto the bed, again look for fabrics which are embellished and have a metallic sheen or keep the bed stylishly simple for a mature and refined look.
Teal in the dining room:
Beautiful silvery teal with a metallic sheen is ideal for creating a luxury dining room and looks fabulous against dark wood tables and chairs. Use patterned teal fabrics to make full length curtains to add a sophisticated luxe look when coordinated with chair covers and dining room accessories.
Teal in the kitchen:
Duck-egg blue works well in kitchens, especially when used as the accent for cream rather than white. Look for pretty duck-egg blue china, teapots and vases to give a charming and homely look to your kitchen. You could also re-paint your cupboard doors with a pretty duck-egg blue to give the heart of your home a new look this autumn and use pale blue or cream vertical blinds coordinated with pretty floral curtains to create a fashionable homely look.
Luxury items and those with a touch of glam will work well in any of your rooms. As teal is a refined and grown-up colour steer away from whimsical pieces and choose those which are glitzy and glamorous! Teal coloured rugs, curtains and blinds will look great when coordinated with stylish cream or modern white.
