Thanks to Christmas falling on a Friday this year the day after Boxing Day you can have a lie in because it’s Sunday! So enjoy the comfort of snuggling up in your warm duvet and get some much needed rest and recuperation.
With Christmas day and now Boxing Day just distant memories you can start to think about and plan next year. Will you be redecorating any of the rooms? How about new interior designs in the bedroom? Perhaps a brand new kitchen with that fancy oven you have always wanted? Or even just some interior changes like some new Venetian blinds in the lounge or wooden blinds in the dinning room?
Even if you decide not to make any major changes then there are lots of inexpensive smaller project you can do to give your home that added touch of style. By buying things that are pre-made, such as ready made curtains or ready made Roman blinds you can save a lot of time by simply selecting the colour and pattern and hanging them at your windows!
There are many other easy and simple changes that can be made in your home that don’t require masses of planning and effort! Just be sure to spend a little bit of time making sure that anything new will work well with the room. Think about colours and textures and try to get something that will compliment the other items you already have. This will help bring everything together with a sense of harmony and balance.
So after your lie in try to make the most of your Sunday afternoon. Sitting down with a nice cup of tea in front of the fire with a pen and some paper try to come up with some goals and plans for the coming year. The last week of the year is always a good time to also reflect on the previous year and think about everything you have achieved. What interior design improvements did you make this year? Are there any rooms that still need to be finished off?
Try to give it a little thought and just by writing thing down you can help de-clutter your mind of all the interior tasks you have whirling around in your head! There is a saying that goes something like this ‘When you think about it, it’s a dream. When you write it down, it’s a goal. When you schedule it, it’s real’. So get busy planning this week and make big things happen in 2010!
