A client who had just finished decorating her living room in a neutral colour scheme wanted to add some colour buy changing the curtains but didn't know what was On-Trend for the autumn/winter season? Top of the colour charts is Purple! - in every shade, hue, tone, and depth you can imagine. Much underused and traditionally reserved for children's rooms, with a reputation for being bright and brash, purple has reached a new maturity and rightly claims its place in interior decor. |

Some of the new palettes are warm, opulent and even seductive, but fresher, lighter, playful palettes have not been overlooked either. Colours range from deepest aubergines, to palest lilacs. Masculine and feminine, there really is something for everyone and these mature palettes are working in a glamorous way with hues of taupe, dark chocolate, grey, gold and chartreuse. The rest of the season’s colour palettes are inspired by nature’s landscape. Everything from dark slate greys and soil browns to pops of bright pink. Chartreuse makes a transition from the spring and copper and burnt oranges replace the jaffa shades of the summer. Honey gold replaces yellow and mid blues and teals feature too, but, ....the colour of the season, is most definitely purple! Take a look at our autumn/winter feature - 'Autumn falls upon us in shades of Purple' for more seasonal colour inspiration. |
