1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

I would describe my style as contemporary chic with some rustic and farmhouse touches.  I love simple and functional decor with a light, airy feeling.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

I always like to start by thinking about what is functionally needed for a space.  I then usually focus on one design element that I absolutely love and go from there.  There are usually many twists and turns along the way, but that is just part of the fun.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

The blogging world is filled with amazing and creative people that have encouraged and inspired me along the way. While I rarely get the opportunity to directly work with others, I have learned many things from the online blogging groups that I have been able to be a part of.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

I love looking through decor magazines and keep files of all of my favourite pages that I have saved from various publications over the years.  The files are organized by rooms, color palettes, and design styles so it is easy for me to look back when I need some design inspiration.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

When I first started my blog almost 5 years ago, I had no idea what amazing opportunities would lie ahead.  Through lots of hard work, determination, and a little bit of luck, I was able to grow my hobby into my main source of income.  Don’t be afraid to try new things and take advantage of every opportunity that presents itself – you never know where it may lead.
