1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

I love colour and texture, so this is evident in all of my work.  I’m not a slave to trends, and prefer to create pieces of beauty inspired from within.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

For a commission, I start by talking with the client to draw out what they are hoping the piece will achieve, and listening to any ideas they may already have.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

Although I have not worked with him, I would have to name Dale Chihuly – it was his work that inspired me to become a glass artist myself. He’s a genius!

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

I’ve always been fascinated by the amazing colours and textures of the ocean and marine-life.  Living and working by the coast provides an endless source of inspiration!

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

First and foremost I am a glass artist but I recognised early on that I needed a product to provide the ‘bread and butter’ so I created a range of handmade glass tiles.  Realising that there was an opportunity to make these on a much larger scale, the idea of the art glass splashback was born.   My advice to others would be to create your own individual style that is recognisable as being unique to you.
