1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?
It’s a mixture of vintage, mixed in with modern and eclectic. My style is unique, I believe, but is filled with pops of bright colors mixed in with patterns.
2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?
I always start with a color – usually three colors. Then, I find a pattern I love and work around those to create a space that is organized and practical.
3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?
I mostly work around bloggers, as I’m not a true designer. My favorite designers are Emily Henderson, Sarah Richardson, and Candice Olsen. These are designers that aren’t afraid of colors but have comfortable and practical designs.
4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?
Pinterest is my main place for inspiration, along with HGTV magazine {my favorite} – I use the ideas of others to come up with my own unique design. I take something and maybe use just the colors or just the lines and turn it into my own.
5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
My style has evolved a lot just in the last five years since I started bloggin. Stick to what you feel is YOU. Blogging has brought out my inner designer, but not without mistakes, for sure. I’ve stuck to what really expresses the true me and I’ve used help and inspiration from the internet and magazines. If looking into blogging, it’s a long road to establish, but be consistent at it and do it if you love it!
