1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

I’m drawn to the modern-rustic/industrial style. These styles usually involve very neutral tones, but I love to throw in some color for an element of surprise.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

I search for inspiration first. Then, I plan out general steps to get me to the end result and let the project evolve on its own as much as I can.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

Anna Kerns, a portrait photographer, truly inspires me. Her work is stunning, but she has also a huge passion for leading and encouraging other creative entrepreneurs of all types to be successful. She loves networking and can always point you towards whatever resources you need. I’ve learned that collaborating with other creatives is important, and I strive to build relationships like Anna does.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

I’m a very visual person. Before Pinterest even existed I was collecting images from magazines. Whenever I need an idea, I look through photos and something sparks an idea!

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

I’ve been crafting since I was in elementary school and developed a passion for home décor in high school. When my husband and I bought our home two years ago, I finally had the opportunity to share my projects and ideas with others. Our home was a blank canvas and I started a blog to share my creative process. I encourage others needing a creative outlet to join the blogging community.
