1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

Classic - Eclectic, Traditional - Edgy, Light-hearted-practical. I love using color to enhance, not to devour but to surprise.  I like to break little rules...expect the unexpected.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

I am hardwired to FIRST set a budget...even a loose one. Parameters and deadlines make me the most creative. I then devour my Art / Design books, Instagram, magazines, blogs and pinterest to see what Jumps out and inspires.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

Charlotte Designer Traci Zeller enlisted me to create artwork for a showhouse she was designing. I loved her methodical yet relaxed approach. Her positive attitude was refreshing!  She remained organized but flexible,  focused but open-minded and she encouraged me to play! This mutual respect and trust gave me the freedom to be my most creative self.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

I often need to detach myself completely and just go to the gym to clear my head. Sometimes I get my best inspiration on the Eliptical binge-watching TV. I will then name all of my paintings after the characters in “House of Cards”or whatever it is I am binging on!

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

I have always had a passion for decorating and have been an artist my whole life, but I never considered it as a profession. Once I realized that the thing I LOVE most could be my “work” I have never look back! If you do what you love you will never “work” a day in your life.
