1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

I love traditional pieces mixed with trendy and modern accessories. Throw in a punch of color, a lot of texture and pattern with a touch of whimsy and that is my style.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

I've created a neutral background in my home, so I can change it on a whim. I usually start with a color or fabric idea and go from there.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

I would have to say it is all the amazing designers blogs that I follow online. There are so many people that are willing to share their talents and they are a constant source of design inspiration.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

I get tons of inspiration from fellow bloggers, pinterest and instagram. I also host a weekly linky party called "Inspire Me" where we have an average of over 300 diy and craft projects that fellow bloggers link up each week. This is an endless source of inspiration.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

I have always loved design, and even though I don't work in the field, creating a warm and inviting home has always been important to me. I started my blog after downsizing to my current home. This is where I share how I used what I had, what I kept and what I replaced. Scale and proportion are so important in any design, but especially in smaller homes. My style is always evolving, so I have been sharing how to update the look of traditional design to more of a transitional or modern design with color, pattern and accessories. I have shared several articles about - When To Be Trendy and When To Pass - Mixing Patterns and Textures - How To Hang Drapes For A Professional Look - Copy Cat & DIY Knockoffs - Sewing Custom Designer Throw Pillows.
