1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

I enjoy repurposing items into designer inspired pieces. Being able to upcycle and create on a budget makes me happy. I enjoy creating quirky, fun, colorful pieces of home décor.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

I’ve often joked that I’m not a detail oriented person, and do things backwards. I start with an idea of a final project, grab a bunch of supplies, and figure it out as I go.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

I hate that I have to narrow it down to just one, as there are many crafters I admire, but I will say Heather Mann. She has used her crafting skills and her business savvy to reach a larger audience and pave the way for other crafters. She’s created multiple successful websites and published a book, all with the idea of making creating affordable and accessible for everyday people. I love the idea of bringing crafting to the masses while building community.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

I tend to go to Anthropologie’s website when I’m looking for inspiration. Their quirky products and fun use of color never disappoint.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

Creating things I love, not what I think people will like, has brought me to this point, I think. It’s helped me find my creative voice and style. My advice for others is to create projects that you love, and to network! Meeting and sharing ideas with others has helped me grow personally and professionally.
