1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?

I strive for design that melds different styles in an unexpected way: vintage with modern, traditional with contemporary. My spaces feel collected over time and not contrived.

2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?

I usually look for a jumping off point- a textile or piece of furniture. From there I incorporate the client’s personality with the functionality required.

3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?

There are several entrepreneurs in Dayton who are among the most creative people I know. To bring originality in retail and service to the midwest takes guts and vision. They constantly push and reinvent themselves which inspires me to do the same. I am honored they have asked me for design advice. Shout out to Square One Salon, Preen, RealArt.

4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?

Inspiration comes in many ways. I am always inspired by fabric. Travel. Now we are spoiled to have websites like Houzz and Pinterest. I admit, I go to these frequently.

5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?

Although I’ve always had a passion for design, my career began later than most. Following stints as a bank auditor and Air Force wife & mom, I went back to school yet again and I’ve never looked back. Love what you do, but be business savvy.
